Hey!

I've two questions here:

1. Is there a application which can check my iMac for any outstanding troubles, problems, bugs? It will be nice to know that my Mac is safe ;).

2.How are the speeds of transferring data from a FAT32 External HDD to a Mac and vice-versa? I'm contemplating whether to reformat my HDD.

Thanks!

1) Apple Hardware Test, insert the DVD which came with your iMac, and as the computer's booting up, hold down D on the keyboard, before the Apple logo appears. You shouldn't need to do this though :)

2) Depends on the hard drive. A good Firewire Fat32 drive will transfer data pretty quickly, but USB 1.1 will take an age. You can give it a try though, see how quickly it looks like it's gonna go.

If it's fewer large files, it'll take much less time than if it's lots of smaller files taking up the same amount of space overall.

Hey! You again! You never fail to make my day! :apple:

1.Is there any app in /Applications/Utilities?

2.Is there a way to change NTFS to FAT32 keeping the data?
