1. How is the Apple trade in program? Is their offer a real low ball figure? I have a non-BTO top of the line late 2015 iMac and the offer is $610
2. I know SSD is the way to go .... there are a lot of posts about getting a smaller internal SSD and using a larger external drive. Do people pick this method because the cost of a large Apple internal SSD is so high? I like the thought of having a 2 TB internal SSD and might spring for it unless having a peripheral drive is better for some reason other than cost.

1. Don't have one.

2. Internal is better. One usually keeps a new computer for say 5-6 years. Why not get it with what you want/need rather than skimp and regret for years?

If you can afford to toss away the high $$$ that Apple charges for a 2tb internal SSD without thinking about it... well... just do it.

But I don't think that it's a price worth paying (even though I could)...
