Hi all,

I'm planning on buying an Airport Extreme and hook an external drive to it so it can do TM backups wirelessly.

Will Time Machine allow the external drive to handle two separate Time Machine backups (my MBP and my wife's MBP) or will Time Machine only allow the drive to do one of them?

Thanks.

Both

All a time machine back up is is a folder

as long as there is space on the drive, you could back up as many different machines you want

I was wondering about that too. Can I run a router with an external hard drive and use it for a mbp and a pc?
And what about other brands of router, like a dlink or linksys?

To be on the safe side I've always made separate partitions for separate machines, but I've been told this is totally unnecessary.

It is unnecessary, but it does keep one TM backup from hogging all the space

True. I'm also a bit OCD about my drives, I want everything allocated to its specific purpose, so it makes my head feel saner that way as well...
