So, I've been wanting to bi-directionally sync iCal with my Google Calendar for the longest time. I read about this piece of OS-independent software, called GCALDaemon, that is supposed to do the trick. http://gcaldaemon.sourceforge.net/ I've downloaded the "Unix/Linux/Mac/AIX compatible ZIP archive," but for the life of me, I can't figure out what I need to do to install it. I tried looking at the instructions that came in the download, but can't figure them out. Can anyone help me out? EDIT: Following instructions at http://nethope.blogsome.com/2007/01/05/gcaldaemon-sync-both-ways-between-ical-and-google-calendar/ now... also here http://nethope.blogsome.com/2007/01/15/gcaldaemon-beta-2/
oh gosh that's so much easier for me. I did manage to get that other program installed in my /bin folder and it was able to download my calendar properly into iCal (but I could do that before!). However, I wasn't able to get changes made in iCal to appear in Google. Don't know why. I probably didn't do some step properly -- definitely a novice Terminal user here. The Spanning Sync beta seems to do the trick though, thanks! Whew, all this computer hacking is making me thirsty. I think I'll order a tab **hits Tab key**
