HomePod 2 x Homepod Minis and BT stereo?

I want 2 homepod minis at work. I have no wifi. I want to pair these with bluetooth. Which I understand will work. When I play music via BT will I have stereo? Because won’t I be using airplay2? Which uses wifi ?

That’s what I thought. I was on the phone with apple and they claim yes. i am guessing they didn’t understand me or they didn’t know and gave me a yes answer.

only way is wifi?
