I just picked up my brand new iMac G5 from the Apple Store the other day. I ran a pixel checker and cannot find any dead/stuck pixels (at least not visible to my not so great eyes)! The backlight seems a bit odd though, and maybe this is just because this is my first large LCD display. On a black screen, I can see the backlighting at the top and bottom of the display. It's not noticable at all at the normal desktop, and really isn't THAT bright on the black screen, but I'm wondeirng if this is normal, because it definately does not look even. I played a full screen video that was letterboxed with bars on the top and bottom, as well as using a pixel checker to verify this.

Thanks

i believe that's known as "light leakage." it's normal for there to be a bit on an lcd, but if it's severe you should have it looked at by apple.
