    WHY can't apple make a 20" iPad?

13" is clearly too small for creatives...just like the iPhone its always about the money never about the user.

Nowadays apple should copy windows and create a 2 in 1, makes a lot of sense.

Ask yourself how many apple devices do you have? its quite terrible all the environmental impact they have.

How would you hold a 20" device which expects your finger to be the primary input method? If you have to rest it on a desk or on your lap to interact with such a device - wouldn't that be a 'desk'top or a 'lap'top by definition?

I would get a desktop tablet, for sure if code editors and other stuff start getting iOS ports.

A 20”ipad? That just seems silly. The only way Apple would ever do something like that is if down the road, Apple creates a touchscreen imac that tilts down flat on the desk. I wouldn't hold my breath. As a content creator myself, i feel a 12.9” ipad is plenty to create on. Hell, i draw, edit photos & movies on my ipad mini 2! But if the current 12.9” ipad pro isn’t big enough for you, rumor has it the next update will increase the screen size to something like 13.5” or more. So maybe you’ll change your mind.

It would replace a Wacom tablet, plus you can run Mac OS desktop with Astropad....its a good idea !

There’s a few things that bug me about your post, so I’ll reply in a more serious way.

Just imagine how unpractical a 20” MacBook Pro would be. Bigger isn’t necessarily better.

Why? I’ve used it and is was big enough for a tablet.

What are the similarities here exactly? What users are asking for 20”?

A little off-topic I think. They have there own views on that, plenty of information available on this.

Compared to what? It’s not that bad and not everyone can just use one device. An iPad is not enough for most professionals, not even with a big screen.

I've used Windows 2-in-1s. Some actually make for decent laptops but most are just mediocre. Pretty much all I've tried are terrible as tablets.

iPad is meant to be portable.

20” screen is not portable and you will need a large suitcase to lug it around.

    Stop being silly OP.

    I returned the 12.9 for another 10.5.

A 20" iPad would see little demand.

Wacom does not have a 20" portable device that they expect you to carry around like an iPad.

Like I said there would be very little demand for a 20" portable "honker".

If apple does produce a 20 inch touchscreen, I'd put money that it wouldn't be an iPad. Maybe some new desktop touchscreen experience. If they're not interested in selling the 17 inch MacBook size anymore, I doubt they'd consider going even bigger with an iPad.

Something like the Surface Studio, minus the desktop nature?

Idk. No one would want to carry that around. Defeats the entire purpose of portability.

No it isn't. That thing will be monstously large, that it would be difficult to hold it for any length of time. That sucker will be heavy, so large that you'd not be able to use unless its sitting on a desk, and just plan awkward. I would also assume a 20" display would require sufficient power that the batteries needed would make it very heavy

Is it possible you want a big touch screen computer like the Surface Studio? So not portable, like some Wacom drawing devices?

Surface Studio - iMac with tilting touch screen. That could be great.

Too big. 10.5 is the perfect size for me. I could do slightly larger on the screen as long as the overall dimensions are the same. I only see a hybrid device having potential once they port macOS to ARM. I’d rather them create a new OS for their laptops and desktops, closed off like iOS.

12.9" is somewhat cramped for many creative uses, but its tending toward limit of mobile tablet size.
There are a number of 15-16" hybrids on the windows side, but I think the real answer is to sort out
your mobile vs desktop needs. I think 16" is a nice digital tablet size for the desktop use with a second monitor, and 20-24" is good for larger desktop projects. Larger sizes are not really that great for notes.
Wacom 16 cintiq pro is excellent all a rounder. BTW, apple pencil is fine but hugely overated versus wacom and other solutions. IMO

Personally I would love it if they increased the 12.9 to 14-16" but I also see a place for 20+ inches. Think like a drafting table type work station.

At that point it’s NOT an iPad... we have to draw the line somewhere. The only increase in size I foresee in the iPad line is stretching out the 12.9 inch to fill up the bezels. Anything more Apple will NEVER do.
