Not sure how you would add/type an event to the calendar from your Watch - it seems to prompt the keyboard on my iPhone.
I would say the same for messages.
Typing on a watch face = not a current solution

Perhaps you should read the article. The article clearly states you need a series 6 or higher to get backtracking. Which makes sense since the series 6 was the first to include a compass
Yeah champ, I read it, which is why I commented. Obviously it’s been updated in the hour or so since I commented it.

Also I’m not looking it up since I have a series 5. But just FYI it had a built in compass.

Normally Macrumors adds an updated reference to the end of articles that have been fixed, corrected, or more information has become available, it would be nice if this article included that as well, since it clearly has had several corrections made to it since it was initially posted, as shown by several responses pointing out errors here in the forum that have been corrected.

16. Apple Watch Mirroring

I’m on a 14 Pro and an s5. Not seeing this feature available. Assuming It requires a later model than s5. Can anyone confirm?

My personal favorite is the Optimized Battery 🔋 on Watch OS. It is extremely intelligent and effective. We need it on iPhones as well.

It's been a thing for a bit already

Perhaps you should read the article. Clearly stated that you need a series 6 or higher for that feature.
The MR writer corrected the article without stating that the original claim was wrong. Reputable news sources address editorial mistakes.

Do you still have to individually and laboriously delete hundreds of messages several weeks, months, years, decades or epochs after you deleted them from iPhone? Asking for a friend 🤔

If you have a 45mm series 7/8 or an Apple Watch Ultra, the keyboard actually works.

Great article but no mention of receiving and placing calls via third party apps such as skype and signal in addition to the existing facetime and phone.

Has this feature not been activated yet?

If it has I'll move to watchOS9 as soon as the full suite of new OSs are released!

Another announced feature was cellular International Roaming for S5 and above.

Haven't seen a precise activation date yet.

Has anyone spotted an update about this?

Feature N°21:

After updating my AppleWatch 6 to OS9 I cant set it up with my perfectly working iPhone 7 anymore. Thanks Apple! You just rendered my purchases useless.

I will now cancel my subscriptions iCloud+ and Apple Music and stay off buying anything from you again.

I can't for the life of me figure out #1. Makes me feel rather dumb.

Am I supposed to open the Watch app, and then scroll down to "Mail" and somehow find the option for "When Not Connected to iPhone."? Because I surely don't have any options like that listed.

This is on an Apple Watch Ultra running watchOS 9.1 with Celluar Data enabled. I have three e-mail accounts on my iPhone, all using Apple Mail, but they are all Microsoft 365 / Office 365 / Hosted-Exchange. None of them are iCloud or hosted using iCloud.

What I love most about WatchOS 9 is that they fixed scrolling in the dock. In 8 it would just skip some apps because the cards didn’t load on time / got stuck, but now they all come on time and clearly separate. It’s about time!

I hate to say it, but this is clearly listed on the Apple watchOS 9 webpage: “watchOS 9 requires iPhone 8 or later with iOS 16 or later”…

To stay more on point to the article: I didn’t know about the automatic car waypoint feature. It would be a nice feature for me when I go hiking; some days I just pick a random direction and enjoy my hike in some of the larger public parks around me.

#1 - For third party accounts, sign-in is required. So I do that, and then a day or so later, sign-in is required again. Doesn’t seem to stick. Bug.
Same here. I was wondering if I had done something wrong, or as usual Google acting up. Also I got bombarded from Google with Security alerts, haha.

Apple Watch Mirroring requires an Apple Watch Series 6 and later.
Thank you. I couldn't find why it isn't available with my series 5. No need to continue the search. #16 and #20 are the only one from this list that I find useful. Too bad that #16 doesn't work for me.

I'm surprised you were able to update to OS9. My cousin has an AppleWatch 7 with an iPhone 7, and his iPhone refuses to do the upgrade on his AppleWatch.

And you can seemingly only use it with IMAP accounts. It is not offered for my personal Outlook or Exchange accounts.
