Yeah, just TRY to delete all the large attachments on your phone using that interface from 'Storage', I dare you. Not only is it insanely tedious because you have to select things one-by-one, but you will have deleted absolutely everything and it will still tell you there's 10GB more to go. The storage interface on iOS is the single worst thing about it.
Also: never, ever turn on the auto-offloading feature. It will offload apps that you use every day but don't OPEN every day. For instance, I have an app from my bank that alerts me when a transaction has gone through. I look at those notifications all the time. I've caught fraud because of those notifications. But that doesn't count as USING it.
It will, of course, offload apps that you find useful, but only rarely have to open. You cannot pin an app and say 'please never ever remove this under any circumstances'.
I bought a 256GB iPhone 16 Pro this year because my 64GB iPhone 11 was impossible to wrangle. I may have actually kept it one more year if not for the storage problems, but 64GB was absolutely untenable and miserable.
