I went ahead and bought an "ADC to DVI extractor/connector/adpater" and it worked beautifully.
This adapter was shipped pretty fast and it works on the dell and my nvidia GE force4 MX beautifully.
I just ordered the 2005FPW and also have a G4 933 MHZt. Does the "ADC to DVI extractor/connector/adpater" connect to the Mac or the monitor. In other words, do I need a DVI cable to connect the monitor to the Mac or a ADC cable?
You'll need a DVI cable. The adapter is designed to plug directly into your video card. Still, if you used an ADC cable it's more then likely you could just plug the adapter on the end of that. I can't guarantee that but I don't see why it won't work.

Exactly...You'll need a DVI cable that comes with the Dell moitor automatically.

Cheers.......

Everything's been covered, but for the sake of completeness I'll add my two cents.

I have my G4 (see sig) hooked up to a 2005FPW through the DVI port and a PC using the 2005 through the VGA port. Image quality through the DVI is noticably sharper and free of noise. Definitely the way to go.

2005FPW and 2001FP are cheap again BTW

From http://www.slickdeals.net/#p7343 right now,
"Dell Small Business has UltraSharp 2005FPW 20.1" widescreen LCD monitor for $529 - auto 20% off - $60 coupon VZ88CG$L8NQR0C = $363.20. There are a few 25% coupons on eBay which will make your total before tax $336.75 if you would like to get one. Dell has also sent out e-mails with those coupons with subject "Hit the road with $300 savings on select Dell notebooks" which may contain one of those coupons. Tax is charged for most. Thanks maestro.

They also have UltraSharp 2001FP 20.1" 4:3 LCD monitor for $539 - auto 20% off - $60 coupon VZ88CG$L8NQR0C = $371.20 if you prefer 4:3 format screens."

I'm surprised the coupon for the 2001FP was still available a few minutes ago (just placed an order) considering I heard about it this morning.
