Like the title says I have a 2006 el capitan mac pro 1,1. I have x5355 quads 32 gigs of ram and nvidia 7300 gt. System updates keeps bugging me to update the system, when I do the entire thing craps out and I have to reinstall el capitan. Can I update from 10.11.0 or what ever the very base stock el capitain is to the most updated version? How can I get boot camp to use the iso of Windows 10 instead of requiring windows 7<~~ main reason I upgraded to el capitain. Also I have an xfx r7 radeon 240 laying around would this be able to be used because the 7300 gt is really bad on el capitan. Thanks for the help

try that ATI card some of those cheap cards do work I tried a 6950 in my 06 it worked but didn't boot windows. and as far as that goes you most likely will have to install it without boot camp then add it after the install.Oh and you will have to use bootcamp 3 from snow leopard.

Thanks I will give it a go. So after reading up a bunch I understand my problem with updating is my Boot.efi is getting over written. I think I may have super screwed myself because I only have the 1 mac and I wrote over my lion install with el capitan.
