2006 macbook, new hd, flashing question mark!?!?!

I have the 2006 white macbook and recently had to replace my hard drive. I successfully installed it and reinstalled osx. It works sometimes but at other times it boots with the flashing folder and question mark. This is SOMETIMES fixed by removing the hard drive and reinserting it, but obviously I can't do that forever. Any ideas?

Your hard drive may not have been inserted correctly or may be loose. Did you tighten it to the sled?

Is the memory L bracket back in place? The HD sled also keeps the HD from wiggling around.

yeah the L-bracket is in place correctly, but how do I tighten the sled?

Pull the sled out and make sure all the screws are tight. Also be sure that both rubber guides on either side of the sled are in place.
