I have a 2006 MacPro running Lion. I have previously installed a Panasonic Blu-Ray Burner which was working great. Now somehow the drive does not get recognized by my Mac unless I reboot. Once I reboot, it works fine until some time goes by and it doesn't realize it's there. It won't let me eject any discs or anything unless I reboot again. Any ideas?

Can you try the other IDE port?

Are you using an IDE to SATA adapter? Or are you using the extra SATA Ports?

I believe it's the IDE on the board. Ill see if I can get to the other one. It was a pain to get this one plugged in lol

So the BD drive is IDE? Hm, not sure if I've ever seen a BD drive with IDE and I bought one of the first BD drives for another PC when they started to become available.

Ah, so you must be using the ODD SATA port.

You need to try the second port then.

So I Placed the SATA cable into the other port on the board and outdoes the same thing as before. I have to reboot the Mac each time for it to recognize it.
