An Australian embarassed? Wow there's something you don't see everyday. :p ;)

Ha ha ha! :) So true :D

Did you see Kelly Sutherton last night? It's all coming good. And Dean Macey? What a riot that guy is - and to get gold as well. It's all going so well. As for medal counts ----- well done Australia!

So far nine athletes (I think they were all from African countries) have buggered off from the athletes village. Nobody knows where they are but the cops say they don't feel concern for their safety as yet.

I heard on the news before that two had been missing since Monday and police were concerned because neither of them had any friends in Melbourne, or could speak english.

Oh, hadn't heard that.

Hey, what's the news of the Australian guy who was stretchered off during the rugby 7s? It looked pretty serious from this end and there has been no follow-up.

It was only reported a few minutes ago. ;)

I'm watching the synchronized diving at the moment and I just can't get over the fact that Melissa Wu, one of the Australians, is only 12 years old!!! And it looks like she's going to get the bronze.

Isn't that how it is for ANYBODY in Melbourne?

Melissa Wu is amazing. She's 12, and she just one a silver medal with her partner Alex Croak!

I might add that Loudy Tourky and Chantelle Newberry also won the gold! :D

Edit: She's 13 actually...oops. It's still amazing! And they've only been practicing together for a few weeks.

That is very impressive. I noticed that a couple of the swimmers were only about 15-16 too. To be winning medals for representing your country at such a young age is a fantastic acheivement. When I was twelve, my greatest acheivement was probably managing to tape all the songs I liked from the Top 40 countdown on the radio without getting the DJ's voice in the way.

I still don't get it.

Sorry - this is so not worth pursuing. If you really don't get it, I could PM you the explanation, but it would otherwise clag up valauable thread space. It was my attempt (failed there, then) at humour. If you did get it, then you win, otherwise I wouldn't be writing this. :) :D
