I've wound up with my fiance's old 2007 MBP and I'm wondering what I can productively do with it. She and I already have newer MBPs as our main machines, but I figure it has some life left in it.

I've wiped the drive and done a fresh install of 10.8, so I'd love recommendations on what to do from here. File server, htpc, backup server? All of the above?

Would love to hear what you all have done with old machines to get some more use out of them.

Best option is to sell it. If you're just looking for things you could do with it then it's surplus to requirements.

Only turn something into a server if you need a server.
