I currently have a 2007 2.2 GHz Macbook Pro that I have used since I bought it new. I am thinking of getting a Mini to replace the aging laptop. I have used this laptop mobile maybe 2 times since I bought it. Other than that it sits on my desk and serves as my desktop computer (and my only computer).

What type of performance boost can I expect (if any) by going to the Mini?

I don't do any video editing. Mainly I use iTunes, iPhoto, web, and some light gaming like Civilization V. Occasionally I will rip a DVD (I know that the mini doesn't have a DVD drive internally).

Also would be interested in any recommendations for a monitor under $200 that would work well with the Mini.

I was originally going to get an iMac but I think the Mini would serve my purposes. I will likely wait and see if they upgrade the Mini within the next month or 2. If not, I'll just bite the bullet.

Thanks for any information!!
