Dude your dreaming. Jags were the one and only threat to New England from another Super Bowl.

You're nuts. The Jags were never a threat. That was media hype. There was never a question that the Jags couldn't match the Pats score for score.

The Colts are an entirely different story. Their defense is fast and aggressive (exactly the type of defense that gives the Pats trouble - see Baltimore, Philly, and the Colts the first time). And they still have those guys on offense... what were their names... oh yea, Manning, Harrison, and Wayne.

You sound like the Chargers fans & officials who were planning their Superbowl parade before their first playoff game last year.

No, I'm a Pats fan. A diehard Pats fan, who can't stand to see the ridiculous arrogance of other Pats fans. We could have lost to Indy and Philly. We should have lost to Baltimore.

I say that the Colts playing the Chargers is a formality because the Colts are going to win by 3 scores. Last time, Peyton was throwing to Wayne, Moorhead, and Craphonso Thorpe. No Harrison, no Clark, no half his offensive line. He threw 6 interceptions and the Colts still nearly won because the Chargers suck. They would get the ball back and immediately go 3 and out. Without Gates, Rivers is going to look like a lost little kid out there.

Again, I love the Pats and loathe the Colts. But anyone who thinks they won't slaughter the Chargers and give the Pats one hell of a dogfight is delusional.

Why do some D coordinates still think playing back and waiting for Tom Brady to have an unforced error is a recipe for success? The Jags offense came to play, but their D was way too complacent. As QCassidy352 said, the teams that gave the Pats trouble played balls to the wall.

Great post! I agree with you that the Pats biggest challenge is next week against the Colts. I guess I got a bit excited by the Pats win.

Anyway who do like in the Giants game tomorrow?

My predictions for tomorrow:

Cut That Meat, Inc over the Lights Out Crybabies: 38-21
Eli Manning will be unstoppable unless Roy Williams horse-collar tackles everyone: 24-17

It's not very original (well actually, it rarely happens), but I'm calling all 4 home teams to win.

...

I was thinking all week that the Giants could upset the Cowboys, but now that TO seems fine, I'm going Cowboys. Though if there's going to be an upset, this is it (Romo's been shakey, Eli's been solid, they're division rivals, and it's Wade Phillips).

That's what I said yesterday, and I guess I'll stick with it.

i really don't see why so many people are picking the Giants. i mean, the Cowboys have looked good all year, and with a healthy TO, what makes you think they'll lose to the giants tomorrow?

Whatever he says, TO probably won't be 100%. Romo and the defense looked awful 2 weeks ago in their last regular season game.

Giants have played very well their last 2 games.

Moss doesn't need to catch 10 passes for 180 yards and 2 TDs to be valuable or change a game.Clearly the Jags invested a lot into stopping him last night and when teams do that, you sacrifice in other areas and that showed with Maroney and the other WRs.
Not to mention the fact that now the Pats have a legitimate running game, something the critics/haters said they were lacking all year long. Maroney ran his ass off last night.Right from the first drive Maroney got the screen play busted a huge gain 33 yards. Near the end of the first quarter he almost got a touch down all on his own by moving a huge pile. On that 3rd and 1 the Jaguars loaded 7 in the box and Maroney still managed to rampage. Against a big, physical D..
At the begining of the 3rd his huge run on the shot gun draw play, and same with the draw play from the shotgun postion in the 3rd for anther huge gain down the sideline. Maroney didnt loose steam in the 3rd quarter at all, some of his best runs made in the 3rd quarter. Not to mention Watson finally having a big game..
Whoever the Pats face next Sunday, the game plan will be completely different than last nite's.

I just loved the Brady fake / touchdown pass play. They're always pulling that kind of stuff in the playoffs.

Good gravy!.You've gotta love this gem from Merril Hoge:
For the record, a number of the national analysts have remained bullish on the Colts, even as New England has mounted its assault on history. On Friday, Merril Hoge, the former Steelers ruing back now with ESPN, made us drop our coffee when he came on WFNI-1070 AM and said hat what the Colts have accomplished the past five years, winning 12 games or more every season, is more remarkable than New England's undefeated regular season.

“The one thing (going undefeated) has been done once before,” Hoge told the station. “What the Colts have done (five straight seasons with 12 or more wins) has never been done before?”

Nothing like a bitter ex Steeler, turned hater, turned so called "expert analyst" The war is over Merril..It's safe to come out of the jungle..

Ummm did anyone just catch the commercial with the Manning brothers in it? It's for Oreo (Nabisco) and the DSRL (Double Stuff Racing League).

I want to gouge out my eyeballs after seeing that.

I am seriously traumatized by it. How much are they getting paid to do such redonkulous bad commercials?

Probably more than they're making to play football. And much more than I'm making to watch football haha.

First gonna watch the Colts beat SD, then gonna watch the Gints destroy the Cowgirls. Then I'm gonna end the night with the Sens beating the Islanders.
