2008 Mac Pro 3,1 Quad, Does it have 2 CPU Sockets?

Hi Guys,

does anybody know if the 2008 Mac Pro 3,1 Quad has 2 CPU Sockets so i can install another one?

I believe it has 2 sockets but only one heatsink?

Yes. Only one radiator exists.

It might work, and it might not if there is EFI block for only 1 CPU.

Correct.

2x sockets (LGA771) + 1x heatsink. Adding a second CPU will work, as it's been done before. 🙂

You can get the cooler from a few places, such as macpalace.com. ~$102USD last I checked.
