Hello everyone,

First time posting after a long time lurking. I have a Mac Pro 1,1 A1186 EMC 2113 That will not display video. I have 2 NVidia A386 256mb PCI-E dual dvi video cards, neither work.

I push the power button and the power button lights up solid white, the computer will chime and I can hear the hard drive making noises like it's working. I push the diagnostics button above the RAM sister boards and from what I can see, the all the way left one lights up amber and the 2 all the way on the right light up green.

The keyboard will toggle the caps lock, and it will eject the disk drive. I put in an old eMac disk and it spins up loud like it is botting to the disk, but still not video.

I reset the PRAM by doing the option, alt, p, r; it restarts and chimes again, but still no video.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you!!!

Btw, you put 2008 Mac Pro in the topic title, your Mac Pro is 2006 one, checking the EMC.

Apologies that is what it said on the box that matches the computer.

I sourced a 8800gt from ebay for $25. It worked a few times and now stopped giving me the video again. Any thoughts?

a PC GT 640 is worth a look as long as you are ruining OSX 10.8 or higher.
any Maxwell nvidia card will do relay, GT 640 is a good cheep option
