I hate to say this.

But CRAP!

Nobody knows what the Next Mac Pro will look like and those mock ups are just fugly.

There hasn't even been a 2007 Mac Pro.

They don't make a deifferent keyboard for one, the whole range is likely to be eight core. Need I continue?

At least post something credible.

3.2GHz processors and 2GB of RAM standard are the only things I can agree on, the rest seems poorly based on what you'd like without real thought for how Apple act or what technology is available and logical for them to sell.

The mockups look fine, but I think I'd like my Mac Pro completely black.

The prices on the Cinema Display also seem optimistic, especially on the 30".

Do you think they'll increase the Hard Drive bays to to 1 TB of storage?

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU like Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/420+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.0 Mobile/1A543a Safari/419.3)

your ACD prices are completely ridiculous. 20" 499, 23/24" 699, 30" 1399 are probably closer. Although I'd say even those are pretty optimistic.

Black = Cheap, UGLY Wintel box.

Given the modest speed bump ( clock and FSB ) don't bet the farm that all models ( or even the "standard" model ) will be 8-core.

If that is the case then entry should be cheaper considering the pricing of the Harpertowns.

Sure, for the bargain price of $600+ dollars. Apple still charges $323.00 for a 500 gig drive which is clearly highway robbery.

And if you think their price gouging has stopped since then, think again. Apple is trying to fleece MBP buyers for $250.00 for a 200 MHz speedbump from 2.4 Ghz to 2.6 GHz. I personally find their BTO pricing insulting.

Sorry Wild-Bill but 2.4 -> 2.6 is 200 MHz difference

so i think it doesn't a good choice to upgrade

Hmmm... almost expect no change except for the switch to the new CPUs, new chipset, and updated GPU.

Like the MacBooks and the MBPs.

Though the Skulltrail seems silly enough change to the chipset for Apple to jump on it for the tower, add Nvidia SLI support while still keeping it in the family with the XServe.

Since this is also prime time to bump ethernet to 10gig, I almost expect another pass on that also.

A new OS,a new CPU, and almost no change? Iam expecting a big change, maybe aluminum & glass enclosure. Apple will want something that shouts look at me just like the new iMac.

The only thing we know about the 2008 Mac Pro is it will have Nehalem processors.

I wish, but I agree thats all too optimistic (especially the 30" ACD, damn if they are that cheap I'll be getting two).

I really have no idea what to expect, it could be as little as just modest speed increases and moving to 45nm, with the standard still being 4 core.

Or it could be all out craziness with 8 cores in everything, and similar to what the OP describes.

Right now I'm suspecting something in a middle ground. Maybe a slight aesthetic change but nothing overly major, cheaper entry into 8 core but not coming standard, and probably the displays getting on overhaul but maintaining their current prices.

Given the prices that have posted several times on this forum over the past weeks, an 8core as the standard model (around $2.5K) seems likely.

I sorta like it too. Except for that weird line on the top of the side... that could go. Also it shouldn't be convex on the sides. Needs handles too.
