2008 Macbook running slow

Hi all
I am the owner of an early 2008 white macbook. It's the 2.4ghz core2duo with 2gb ram.

I am becoming increasingly frustrated by the apple spinning wheel I get when trying to carry out tasks. Nothing heavy duty, just running iTunes at the same time as having a safari window or 2 open.

Anything I can do to improve things?

How is your memory usage going? 2GB seems very tight space. Have you thought about upgrading that?

It's currently 10.7.5 so Lion osx

That's my question really? Should I upgrade the memory? Hard drive? Change OSX?

Upgrading the RAM in your system would certainly speed things up...2GB is quite low these days.
