The trackpad on my 2008 Macbook is very unresponsive in the centre of the button and won't register any clicks there, otherwise the sides of the button are fine.

It is out of warranty and applecare, is there a fix for this problem that I can implement or if I take it to the applestore, can/will they fix it? and for how much?
