Quagmire,

It's pretty darn good looking for a mini-ute. The new Vue certainly looks no worse than a CRV or a Rav4. I'm not sure about the 70 mpg claims though. In fact, I'm pretty sure the press release projects a 45% increase over a standard engine for the dual mode hybrid. The dual mode is going to incorporate the v6, which gets 27 mpg. A 45% increase gives you about 40mpg.

The 70 MPG figure is for the plug in Vue hybrid. The Dual Mode isn't a plug in hybrid system. The 3.6 V6 isn't the 3.5 Honda V6. That engine is gone when the new Vue goes online. The 3.6 V6 is thirstier then Honda's 3.5 V6. So I expect 20 MPG/24 MPG. Then again, I think the 3.6 is confused. lol In the Aura it gets 20/28 and that is quite thirsty for a car, but the Acadia with the 275 HP 3.6 in FWD form gets 18/26 which is quite good for a SUV/CUV of that size.

The most exciting aspect of the very-soon-to-be dual mode Vue Green Line is that it will be able to run up to 30mph in fully electric mode. Even the Civic and Accord Hybrids can't do that yet.
