I need to replace my router and I'm looking at two refurbished options. The 1TB Time Capsule 2009 and the AirPort Extreme 2011.

I'm attracted to the AirPort because it's fairly new (July 20011) while the Time Capsule is from 2009 but it has the benefit of the hard drive.

What do you think? Is one more attractive than the other? The price for the AirPort is $149 and the Time Capsule is $209.

The 2011 Time Capsules and Extremes benefit from a more powerful antenna stack. So depending on the size of your home, you will probably have more wireless stability and speeds with a 2011. That said, the 2009 models of both are excellent too. It surprised me when I first got an Extreme; Apple makes a terrific router.1
