2009 iMac, can RAM be installed by the user?

I may inherit a 2009 24" iMac. It has a 640GB HD and 4GB of RAM. Is it possible to install more RAM by myself or would I have to have it done by an authorized tech?

Installing RAM on the 2009 iMac is very simple - just unscrew the plate on the bottom and install away 🙂

10 minute job......remember, the max RAM that machine will handle is 8GB
