Don't know which forum to put this in but I have a question. Which would be best for a 14-15 year old who mainly wants it for iWork, to show off, and for the Mac experience. They're both the same cost but the air has less memory, ram, and a smaller screen while the only down side to the MacBook is that it is plastic. Please give your opinion. Oh and how do you add a signature because I don't want to have to type the same thing every time I post a thread. Thank you!

Macbook. The optical drive will allow him to play DVDs and give him more power and storage. It doesn't sound like he's in a position where having an 11 inch screen and ultra-low weight would be very beneficial at all.

Agreed. I think the Macbook would be better.

I'd just like to add that, according to the buyer's guide here on MR, the macbook will probably be upgraded soon.

Regardless of what the Buyer's Guide says, nothing is getting updated until after the holidays. Apple's lineup is set until after New Year's.
