Perhaps consider adding your solution here in case someone has the same problem in the future.
Edit: there's also an option to mark your thread as "resolved" if you ever want to do this. The three white dots to the right and above your first post (more options) > edit thread > drop down menu of "no prefix" > resolved > save.

Glad you've got it sorted.
I've an M2 but am posting this on a mid2009 MBP (MacOS). Unrelated to your issue, I did actually require the WiFi card (and almost everything else) to be replaced. It would on occasion drop WiFi, but always when running the Speedtest from Ookla.
