U N C

I kid, I really don't know. I went to two schools with lack luster sport teams. :( But I do prefer my U N C PJ bottoms over the Duke ones I have, if that counts. :D

I was about to start this thread. Now I don't have too.:p Anyhoo. Go Huskies.

Funny how this thread doesn't get created until almost *March* hmmmm

Shows the difference in football and basketball and the influence of the tourney

Like it or not, the absence of a football playoff creates more interest in the regular season

But this is a basketball thread

The Dawgs are finally recovering from the devastation of Jim Harrick
It has been a struggle, but the Dawgs seem to be on track with Coach Fox

We used to start these threads earlier in the season but they never got anywhere because everyone was so focused on football. February is when the basketball side really starts to heat up any ways.

I know I was the who asked about this thread but to be honest, I don't follow college basketball all that much in the normal season. I like to watch the big games occasionally but other than that no. During the tournament though it's like all I talk about.

I am more a fan of college basketball over football. I will start watching the games in November because there really isn't any other sport I care about since the NFL is only on Sundays. Baseball season is over and I don't really care for the NBA. Once the Superbowl is over there really isn't anything bigger than March MAdness. And then spring is here and back to Baseball.

I bought a 5 game pass for the Braves the other day
2 great seats for 1 game a month
2 Phillies, 1 Cubs, 1 Rangers, 1 Cardinals

Will prolly go more, but this locks me in for once a month at great seats and prices

Back to basketball... the NBA is hopeless

I will be more interested in March Madness with the Dawgs likely in
But I usually wait till the Elite 8 to start paying attention

A LOT of buzz on Twitter about Jimmer from BYU

I'll chime in. SDSU fan over here, hoping to win over New Mexico tonight. Enjoying being top-ten ranked. It's been good for sports at San Diego this year.

Speaking of nothing, if I want to go to Chi and see another Cubs game it looks like I'll be paying out the rear again. :(

Texas has a pretty easy path to a #1 seed from this point on, but I'm unsure that Rick Barnes has the coaching chops to win the big games come Tourney time. We'll see how it plays out.

This is the best Texas team in a long, loooooong time. Jordan Hamilton is a complete stud, Tristan Thompson is even better than he was supposed to be and the rest of the guys have actually bought into playing team defense instead of playground ball. The sky is the limit for this team, but I agree that winning it all will be a test of Barnesy's abilities next month. They are going to play "home" games the whole tourney (possibly in Tulsa, San Antonio and Houston), and that means that if they don't win it this year...when will they?

My Aggies are again plugging along. This is probably the least talented team we've had since 2003, but the fact that we're sitting at 20-5 and ranked 17th speaks volumes about what a tremendous job Mark Turgeon is doing. The fans (especially the students who aren't hard core) are completely spoiled now, though. After a couple of home losses (the first time THAT has happened in a long time), the fans stayed away from last night's game against lowly Iowa St and Turgeon was clearly unhappy about it. I hope the students pull their heads out of their asses and pack Reed Arena for the last couple of games, or we could be in the market for a new coach soon. Sad.

I'm just hoping my Spartans make the tournament this year, we need to pretty much win our last few games to have a good shot. Luckily we had a very tough schedule. If we manage to sneak in, watch out for Sparty :)

Somebody tell the officials not to swear on TV.:p

UConn getting destroyed by Louisville.

I'm an OU student myself (from Texas), but I am rooting for Kansas (Jayhawks) this year. They are a very talented team this year and the Morris twins are incredible.
