Due to 980 nVidia card, running 13.6 High Sierra and the GPU is flashed for an apple boot picker. Worked perfectly for almost 5 years now. Long story, spilled some coffee on the keyboard, but I worked it over to where I verified all keys work in macOS. EXCEPT, on boot, neither option key brings me to the picker while I can verify they work in macOS. I HAD ordered a replacement A1243, but they no longer make wired so it's a BT one, most likely a different model number. Now I'm thinking will this even work on my cMP to send keystrokes to the computer during the early boot process (i.e. to get that boot picker... I switch a lot between macOS and wn10).

Should it not work,Macally makes some that look like the same design as the OEM, anyone have bad experiences with them?

Have you tried finding a used one (A1243)?

Hmmm, think I kinda didn't think about a used one as I know keyboards CAN be put to very heavy handed use (honestly I have been beating up on mine for 11 +years now). Some pretty cheap ones on eBay and I have never been burned in any way there.

Holy ****, Kees (I remember you being extremely helpful to me)... AND I can get one in space gray, I see Apple doesn't make them any more. I'd still like to know about BT keyboards on my 10.13.6 2010 cMP... big thanks to you, I DO recall the name Matias.

Just to follow up, I got my space gray Matias, yeah, makes me happy!feels identical to my 2010 OEM keyboard. I see 2 nomenclatures with these kinds of switches, "scissors" and "butterfly." Don't they mean the exact same thing? I KNOW whatever the fruit used 10+ years ago are damn hardy... I am not easy on my keyboard and they all held up admirably for a decade. Not sure how long the Matias switches may last... frankly, even if they were sourced from the same supplier, I doubt they are made as bulletproof as they were a decade ago.

Things to note, my OeM had another function on f4, the Matias has LaunchPad... a good choice. Will take a bunch of work to get setup as I have way more stuff than is typical of mobile devices. Now I need this to work for me in macOS & win10. Num Lock & Scroll Lock & Print Screen work just fine (Scroll Lock is used the the MMO I play), AND the Command key works as the winblowz key. BUT I was kinda disappointed the 3 keys for volume do not work at all in win10. Yeah they work just fine on my OEM keyboard. I can deal as I set up 3 macro in the game to deal with sound level. The vol "wheel" the keyboard has is just too whack to depend on, it's very odd on the mac side, and more odd on the win side. I ignore it, and it seems a lot of their customers are not that happy with it.

Hi Paul!
Overall the Matias does feel like the OEM, though not sure either if it's going to stand the tooth of time over a decade or more ... ; )

For Volume and other keyboard shortcuts running W10 I use this app.
Works fine and has the appearance of the Mac OS Vol control : )
