May I ask is it a program that is freezing ?

Is the screen locking up ?

CPU stalled ?

Need more info ;)

Thanks ,

self-reinforce much?

I only want people to post here if they dont have an issue. People with the issue need to stay away and go into their own threads.

Just a wild guess, but 10k says you're not a scientist.

I have no problems.

I have to use the laptop outside in UK weather though. It gets freezing... cold.
*ba dum tish* :D

No freezing for me.

But I know a friend who does have a mbp which freezes around 7-8 times a day, and is reluctant to call tech.

I am not going to go into detail here... but their are about 200 other threads on these same forums about this issue.

Please read.
My i7 MBP runs at around 35 °C when idle ... so no freezing here either ;)

You could have at least linked the related post to get more answers. People will not search the forum just to answer your thread. Just saying ..

No freezes on my i7 MBP.

I voted no freezing a few days back, but since then my machine has started with the random beachballs of death. The computer never completely freezes, but i get 2-10sec long beachballs randomly. It doesn't seem specific to an application either.. it's really strange and semi frustrating.

No freezing here on my MBP 15 i7.

Just to be on the safe side, I am doing video encoding a few times a day to get my CPU temp up to 200F. ;)

@ Mr OP

Hi there. I'd like to understand where you're coming from. The freezes you're talking about... do they happen everyday?

I've had my 15" mbp, AG, 500GB 7200rpm for 3 weeks now and it froze like three times:

1. Intense gaming for hours on bootcamp running xp 32bit...

2. Intense CPU usage, transfering backups from external HD + using photohop, dreamweaver and fireworks (all at the same time)

3. Just surfing the web (but I noticed computer was REALLY hot)

Are those normal freezes or are they part of the "You can't post here, your computer is evil!!!"

Jokes aside, is there an acceptable freeze?

I would bet that has nothing to do with the computer but all software freezes.

1. Was windows it freezes all the time.

2. Was using adobe products and they freeze all the time.

3. Probably flash or *****ty website code that caused the browser to crash (in which case refer to 2)

Im sorry, but you people need to read the forums and stay up to date with current happenings.

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/912218/

There are multiple threads here on the first 2 pages of the MBP forums, and Multiple (4+) threads about the new MBP having "Freezing" issues on Apple support site.

It is a major issue for alot of people and seems to be more common than having a yellow tinted screen.

Please give the Internet a read then post back here. Thanks.

Sorry for necroing this thread, but i'm really thinking about buying a macbook pro and i have a very simple question :

Has anyone here had an i5 or i7 macbook pro for more than 2 weeks without freezing issues ?
 :(

Hi, like I said in another post up here, I had it 3 times in a week. And now I've been using the computer for another 3 weeks and I have not had it, not even once. THE SAME computer.

It's aleatory.

two week old 2.4GHz i5 15"...use it 12 hours a day...no freezes...working perfectly...couldn't be happier...:D
btw, I'm gettin' 7 to 8 hours of battery out of this baby when just surfing and emailing...5+ when watching flash, SlingPlayer or DVD...truly amazing...:)
