I've been following the board too and have until August 2nd to make up my mind as to returning to BB to upgrade (45 days for RZ silver comes in handy), or stick with what I have. With Discounts, GC's, RZ points, my base 11 cost $630 out the door, the only one i'd upgrade to would be the 1.6/4gb/128, and that would cost me another $370 or so. For what i'm using it for, i can't justify to myself (or my wife) taking it back and upgrading. Backlit keyboard, plus all the other upgrades, make it tempting, but i'm not sure how bad the keyboard would be a battery drain and wouldn't want to make that trade off. I just need to make it past the 2nd and i won't need to worry about keeping up on the pricing anymore.

I am liking my 2011 MBA 11" much more than I anticipated.

How will I feel when the next generation Ivy Bridge MBAs come out?

I'll probably upgrade because the resale value of Macs are akin to German sports cars.

That way, I can copy and paste this same post (with minor edits) to the guy who writes about how happy s/he still is with the future outdated Sandy Bridge MBA! :)

I am still enjoying my 2010 13 inch MBA. I do think the 2011 MBA upgrade was an upgrade.

As far as the heat goes, it sounds like it is not near as high of an issue as the MBP upgrade to SB.

I will keep my wonderful machine at least 2 to 3 more years before I donate it and get a new one.

It is entertaining reading all the post about Samsung vs Toshiba vs LG. So much buyer remorse for so little difference.

Funny the LG screen was considered the best in 2010 model per this forum. Now my Samsung screen made a leap in quality for the 2011 model, and is the preferred screen, lol....

? what heat issues ? the 11" i5 I have is much cooler than my 2009 mbp under stress and its fans do their job very quietly ! I've had many computers in my life, it's my favorite by far...such computing power in such a light and well designed case is a dream come true for me, literally. Very happy lion user as well...

I wanted to upgrade my 11" primarily for the 256 GB SSD that is now an option... I could really care less about the new CPU since my usage does not depend on having the fastest system. Safari, iPhoto, Quicktime, Netflix, Youtube and Office 2011 for the Mac run very fast for me in Snow Leopard. My boot up and instant on is incredibly fast. The one area I cannot compromise on is the GPU. I am hoping that the next version of the Air improves this and I will definitely upgrade!
