I got one reply from Google, but a friend says it should be possible. I'm now looking for a 3rd source confirmation. I'm aiming to buy this:

    2.93GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
    8GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 4x2GB

I want to enable Triple Channel, we figured with 3x2GB for a total of 6GB it should work, but I'm wondering if the 27" iMac will operate with only 3 Ram Cards. We both think I can remove the bottom right Ram Card and Triple Channeling should work fine, but I thought it would be nice to get confirmation before I go mess around with the Ram Cards. Is it possible or should I stick with my 8GB?

If it is indeed possible, does this article show how its done correctly? Just want to confirm since it only seems to mention installing/replacing Ram instead of removing it.

    Thanks :)

iMacs only support dual-channel. Why? Because only Intel i7-9xx and Xeons support triple-channel. i3, i5 and i7-8xx are limited to double channel. However, I doubt you would notice any difference
