Quite frankly, I was yesterday at a Mac Store to compare the new MBP and the MBA (both 13") and I didnt notice that much of a difference in terms of screen quality. Other than the MBP's screen being glossier (and therefore more "colorful), the screen quality was pretty much the same to my eyes.

PS: I prefer non-glossy screens. What's the point in a glossy screen on a mobility device?!? they're impossible to work with outdoors.

I think that the 13 mbp is the best update this time. Now you got the CPU speed of last year highest mbp but for half the price. Those new cpus will run circles around c2d. And the new intel IGP is actually about equal to nvidia 320m. I wonder how many of you actually really believe that apple will put A LOT BETTER gpu in the 13 inch model ? :) That's not a gaming machine. In fact all of their products are not. If you need better card - 500$ more and you got it. Yes, i know it's sad, but that's apple. SSD's are still too expensive and putting separate small disk just for the OS is impossible i'm afraid. Maybe with the redesign which will probably come next year, but for now you have to deal with the old HDDs or just spend 100$ more and get one. So all in all, you get better laptop but still not happy ? :) The only thing that i don't like is that there's no anti-glare option ( possibly with higher res ). I would be very happy with that and will gladly pay for it as i'm sure a lot of people will, so let's hope apple do that for us

I haven't spent too much time with the MBA, but when comparing them side by side at the store, I didn't really notice the "dullness" or major viewing angle problems mentioned. What i did notice was crispier text on the MBA, the MBP text looks fuzzier, it's to me the same difference in between a iPhone 3G & iPhone 4 retina display. The MBA screen has also much less glare which makes it more usable with low screen brightness and is less tiring for the eyes, whereas the MBP basically becomes a mirror! Finally the added screen real estate is very very welcome.

Bottom line is, the MBA screen pros outweigh by a ton the minor cons, that honestly i didn't notice.. I am still thinking of going with the new MBP, but i would gladly have the MBA screen any day of the week...

I agree. The new one seems noticeably faster than the 2.4 GHz model it replaced (same 500 GB 7200 RPM HD).
