Which is the better machine? Thanks. I'd love a 15 cMBP though.
There's always something I'm not going to have.It depends on your needs. One has a faster CPU and GPU and a larger screen, the other is lighter, has a retina screen and better battery life.

Depending on your climate, the logic board in an older machine can dry out.
- I agree with your overall point, and even made much the same one myself above. But to call the 2011 machine a PoS is perhaps a bit extreme. I've gotten 5 good years out of mine so far (with a logic board replacement, true) and fully expect to keep it as my primary machine until at the very least the beginning of 2018 when my coverage for the video issues expires, and quite possibly longer.2011 15" MPB is a POS, dump that thing before GPU dies.
I have 2011 and it didn't die all of sudden. Never have I ever encountered graphic problem. Is this a prank? Are you punkin' me? 2011 15" MPB is a POS, dump that thing before GPU dies. 13" retina all the way.
