Hey Guys

Have a funny problem with my 15" MBP with high res anti-glare screen.
After about 1 month of use the screen intermittently switches the back light off and it goes very dim no matter what I set the brightness at.

The problem solves it self when the computer goes to sleep and wakes back up or if i change the resolution.

Because of that i dont think it is the back light failing.

It fades in and out too, not a sudden failure.

Is there a option I may have unwittingly changed somewhere?

Thanks,

That sounds like an issue with the light sensor. To test if this is the same thing you're experiencing hold your hand over the area where the Facetime camera is.

If you don't like this feature you can turn it off by unticking the box under the display menu in system preferences.

It goes much darker than that, as if the backlight is fully off no matter what brightness I set it as.

It isn't really possible to view the screen even in a dim room.
