2011 17" Incorrect Negotiated Link Speed

samsung sata 3 ssd in main drive.
Link speed shows 6gbs. Negotiated speed is 3gbs.
Tried updating osx to latest update then shutting off and turning back on.
Intel controlled, not nvidia.
Still incorrect. Ideas?

I know that thread is about SSD in the optical bay, but often the same tips can be tried.
Did you try a PRAM reset?
You can check if your Samsung drive has a firmware update.
Try replacing the SATA ribbon cable.

That thread has no solution. Ill try pram and looking for a firmware update.

EDIT - Pram didnt work. About to try firmware...
EDIT - No firmware update available for this ssd.

Im gonna try an OWC ssd tomorrow and see if that reads correctly..

Could be a cable issue, have you reseated both ends?
