2011-2012 MBP Questions...

I'm snooping around Craigslist locally for a great deal on a used MBP for my daughter since, being in a college town, many students sell theirs after graduation.

I can pick up a nice 2011-2012 model for $450-650. That's in my price range, but can some of you Mac people coach me on whether or not that's a good deal...or if u need to stay away from those year model machines.

FYI...all she will do is some basic email/surfing for the most part. She asked for a Mac because her friends have them! Lol!

Are you speaking about the 15" or the 13" ?
The 15" was affected by some GPU issues, so I would avoid a secondhand MBP 15" from 2011 (it could be a repaired unit).
The 13" was just fine.
