2011 iMac - Hard Reboot

Hi All,

I have recently bought on of the new 2011 iMac's. This is my first time into the Mac arena so not sure if there is an underlying issue I have.

When I leave the unit unattended the system falls asleep (as it should). Typically it wakes by hitting a key on the keyboard.

But there are times where I have yo pull the power totally for around 30 seconds to get it to restart - failing that it doesn't matter how I press the Power On button the read - I get no response.

One thing that I have noticed is that this only occurs when I have the 'Powered' 7-Port USB Hub plugged in.

Would the powered hub cause such thing to occur??

Not sure about the USB hub, but I would try an SMC and PRAM reset to see if it sorts out your problems.

I'll see how this turns out. Have read about it but never understood what it's all about.
