hello there, i am a new iMac owner and i'm not quite used to the system..

so, can anyone tell me how to identify the manufacturer of the RAM?

thanks in advance

if you're not used to the system, how will knowing the RAM manufacturer help you in any bit? Not to sound like a jerk, but this should be the least of your concern.

You can look up the manufacturer code in the System Profiler and google it. Or, you can remove the RAM from the iMac and examine it physically.

discounteggroll,Lord Appleseed : just thinking of getting the same manufacturers' RAM..gonna buy it myself..

leman: i googled it and it seems to be Hynix..gonna remove the RAM and confirm it..(i'm at Japan currently)

You do not need RAM from the same manufacturer. Buy from OWC, Crucial, or any other seller.
