    Hi All
First post here.I recently bought a new mac, well 2011 model but new to me,its a 27 inch i5 2.7ghz.I believe it has OS X 10.7.5 (i think that is correct).I have no idea what this one is called.I bought the mac for editing as it will be quicker than the one i have.I am looking to run lightroom and photoshop,i tried to download both of these, but it tells me to upgrade to latest operating system.I have been onto app store and se mojave is latest, but don't think my machine can run it.
So my question is what can i upgrade to and where do i get it. I have tried to get yosemite,el capitan, sierra and high sierra but can't find them anywhere.
I currently use a late 2009 21.5 inch mac which is running high sierra,so i am guessing my 27 inch should be able to run the same.
Any help with this would be very much appreciated.
    Thanks

Good catch. Here is High Sierras requirements:
    https://support.apple.com/kb/SP765?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

It indicates you need OS 10.8 (Mountain Lion) or later. You can purchase Mountain Lion from Apple ($19.99):
    https://www.apple.com/shop/product/...a7dbf78fe3cfb8aebd8493ddc9dc6e6fb6a21e80dfe70

    or

    Try downloading El Capitan (10.11):
    https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT206886
    https://itunes.apple.com/app/os-x-el-capitan/id1147835434?ls=1&mt=12

    or

    Try downloading Sierra (10.12):
    https://support.apple.com/kb/SP742?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
    https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/macos-sierra/id1127487414?mt=12

Once you've upgraded to 10.8, 10.11, or 10.12, then you will be able to upgrade directly to High Sierra if desired.

REMEMBER: You should always make a good backup before upgrading your OS.

Thanks for the replies. All links to the app store via itunes that you posted give me an error that says there is an error with the app store, please try later.
I didn't realise it would be this much hassle to upgrade an operating system

I just checked and they work fine for me in the United States. The links are for the US since that is my location. Maybe the problem is that you are located in the UK.

EDIT: There are also people that sell macOS USB installers on eBay.
