I did find it useful. Sorry if I didn't make that clear before. I am considering a new 15" too and I really want the anti glare screen but I don't think these old eyes can deal with the small text on the hi res screen. I have looked at both screens along with the 17' at the Apple store and I think I have even more trouble with the text on the 17". I really wish there was an option for the anti glare with the standard res screen. I keep looking and trying to get used to the high res but I don't think I can.

Maybe check them side by side with the 17" to see which one is less straining to your eyes. I got the 1400x900 res and I still find the letters too small! Damn glasses!!!

yeah, ridiculously high resolutions (not saying the high res 15" is ridiculously high) are kind of silly whilst OSes are resolution dependent.

It would seem to make most sense for someone who doesn't do a lot of word processing or dealing with tiny, crabbed fonts, ie a graphics designer or video editor. a journo would find high resolutions a right pain

Thank you! :)

About the resolution, I look at it this way - I rather have the option to make apps/fonts_in_apps bigger and/or the res lower Than not have an option. That plus the fact that Anti-Glare is absolutely important to me personally for my photo workflows, it was a no-brainer personally.

I think you should go hi-res and deal with it whichever way makes you productive. More than likely you will have an external monitor (right?) where you can get it 'just so'.

In some ways, I think the 17 seems even worse to me. I'm quite comfortable on the 15" with 1400x900, but there no anti glare option. The 17" is a sweet machine, but I don't think the resolution is suited for me either. I'll play with each of them another time or two and then decide.

I like the MBA too. The 11" is a honey, but again, I think the text is too small for me. Even the 13" Air has higher resolution than the 13 MB. My mother was right, it does make you go blind. :D:D:D

Ah, yes! Programming is such an awful vice :(

Mother's ruin indeed ;)
