As long as you have a Time Machine backup the world is your oyster. You can do what you want and revert back if you don't like it. There are zero reasons why a mid11 MacBookPro wouldn't be happy to run it.

There is no Mid11 MacBookPro ...
However, either of them will run it fine. SSD would certainly be faster but that would be the case regardless.
