Hi I'm in need of a little guidance on how to fix my wife's mbp 2011 fan running higher than normal after I installed a Samsung evo 250gb ssd. The performance is like night and day but that fan has me a little worried right now . Thanks Matt

JT's got the right idea. You can also reset the PRAM by holding CMD + Alt + P + R on startup until you hear the Apple boot chime 3 times, then let go.

If you have a 15" or 17" MBP, and the above steps don't fix it, that may indicate a graphics issue. The dGPUs historically run quite hot and they have a repair program: https://www.apple.com/uk/support/macbookpro-videoissues/
