2011 MBA 11" facetime camera quality

I just got a used 2011 ultimate MBA and the facetime camera on it seems to make the image darker than it should be in a normally lit room compared to my ipad 3. Is this how it normally is? They both shoot at 640x480 (which shouldn't be in the same sentence as quality) but it seems like the ipad has a way better aperture and has better quality in the same conditions.

I'm not sure if they've improved them, but in my experience the FaceTime/iSight cameras have always been terrible quality 🙁

Same... images were darker in my 2011 13" MBA as well...
