2011 MBP 13" Slow!

Hey all, was wondering if you guys have similar problems as me:

- watching a youtube video with no other app open, fan starts and gets extremely loud and annoying
- have apps like Word and using firefox, and then opening up images or itunes, it becomes so slow

what's going on? i know this isnt normal considering my 2006 macbook didnt do anything compared to this. or am i just being a little dumb...😕

Shouldn't be an issue. I had the 13'' for a month and had none of those issues with those exact tasks. I did use Chrome but I doubt FF is causing that much of an issue. Are you pegging a lot of CPU? RAM? Etc?

Try the same video with Chrome and again with Safari.

Compare CPU usage between the three in Activity monitor.

I upgraded RAM to 8GB and run Windows 7 in virtual machine with 3.5GB memory allocated, and it's quite fast still. I used to use Firefox and it usually causes my computer slow, so I use Chrome now.
