I have a 2011 15" MBP. Last year I put in a SSD, new battery and 16GB of RAM and it's been running like new until now. When I boot it, there are faint lines across the screen and the logo/loading bar are a reddish off-colour, and it gets stuck on a white screen.
Have tried recovery, safe mode and PRAM reset to no avail. Internet recovery connects to wifi, loads with the same weird lines and colours and then goes to white screen. Contacted apple support who now regard this machine as "vintage" and tried a controller reset. No luck.
Just wondering if anyone has encountered a similar problem and thinks it might be worth me getting a new logic board, as I can't imagine anything else is causing the issue.
Or should I just get something new? Any pointers for DIYing a Mac desktop as an alternative too?
Really stuck, help appreciated!
Thanks
