I thought it was my imagination, but now others are reporting the same thing, I think it has affected my machine for the better. I noticed it during heavy CPU allocations when running my VM images that the upper level wasn't as high as it was previously running. This is a commercial office environment with the temperature and humidity regulated.
 
I was going to agree but I realized that I haven't installed the update yet! I'm doing it now and I will hopefully notice a difference!
 
After receiving two MBP's in a row that were running hot due to sloppy assembly - gobs of thermal paste - I've made it a practice to not even use a new MBP out of the box.

The first thing I do is tear it down, clean off the sloppy excess of paste, apply the correct amount and reassemble it.

Once that's done my Apple Computer Kit is complete and ready to use.

Ya gotta love these premium DIY machines. :)
 
edit to my previous post... i think it might be running 5C colder or so all the time... i can't remember a time when i could use my comp for more than 30 minutes and have the CPU still under 40C...
