Guten Abend!

A temperature issue to all DAW (here Ableton) users with a MBP2011early / 15in with a broken AMD GPU. The dGPU is switched off and only the integrated Intel GPU is used but it seems like that certain Applications still use the dGPU and make the machine overheat.

Escpecially after I've upgraded to Sierra I have a problem with the temperature of my GPU & CPU while using Ableton Live 9 or 10. After a few minutes the GPU diode shows 126 C and the CPU rises to 80-94 C (iStat). This seems arbitrary, but I think that it mainly kicks in when using vsts and stays at that 126 C peak even after you turn off/kill the vsts.

Do you have any ideas how to solve that?

Thanks in advance

With such and old system then consider opening up devices and clean the dust out them to start! That should help!
That´s not doing the trick, unfortunately. There is a gmux hardware fix but no one to provide expertice where I live + covid. I was thinking maybe someone else got this issue and found a software solution.

Thanks
