Hey,
I'm not tech savvy in the least, so any advice would be great 😛

I have the 2012 slim 27" i7 imac model. I have a 4Gb stick of RAM that id like to put in there but I'm not sure if its compatible.

The sticker on the ram says its:

Samsung 4GB 2Rx8 PC3 - 10600S - 09 - 10 - F2
M471B5273CH0 - CH9 1145

Is that compatable for this model?

I would get some OWC or Crucial Ram 2 or 4 x 8 GB or similar. You need pairs of RAM btw. There are 4 slots for max of 32GB

Memory Type: DDR3 PC3-12800, DDR3 (non-ECC) for a 27" 3.4 MHz i7 Core

Yeah, don't install it. It will downclock all RAM to 1333MHz and make it run in single channel mode. Get a new 8GB or 16GB kit to go along with the RAM instead.
