2012 iMac Beyond 32Gigs RAM?

I have a late 2012 27Inch iMac.
It "supports" 4x8GB ram for 32 total.

But is this the limit, or is this just what's official? Can it take 16GB DDR3's?

Thank you for your reply, though it wasn't what I asked.
As I stated in the OP, yes, the offiical "supported" max is 32. I'm wanting to know if that's just the offiicial supported amount and it can actually go more.
